Just submitted yesterday. Think you can give me an estimate on my chances?
NJ resident, commuting everyday to New York (my counselor said he's mentioning how strenuous that can be, not sure how much it truly matters)
Dual Curriculum (judaic studies)
Honors for 4 years
98.00 average (my school doesn't do gpa or weighted or class rank but i'm top 5 out of 170 or so.)
SATs 800 math 690 reading 680 writing, then 730 math 740 reading 730 writing
Math Level II 800
Chemistry 800
APs:
Calc AB - 5
Chemistry - 5
US History - 5
Will take: Calc BC, Physics C, European History, and English
Recommendations: One from my math teacher for three years, where I was consistently top of the class. He mentioned how I did independent studies, top school performer on national tests (AMC, etc.) He's a world renowned editor, amazing writer.
One from my chemistry professor, and I intend to major in Chemistry. Glowing recommendation (he wrote it in front of me) said in his 43 years experience, he's seen maybe 3 students like me. Wrote about my leadership in the class.
One from my History teacher. She's a brilliant writer, and she loved my participation in class. Felt like getting an humanities/social science teacher, and she writes around three recommendations a year, so to get one from her is major.
My guidance counselor wrote a great recommendation, again showed me part of it. Emphasized my long schedule (6 am to 8 pm junior year for example) and other stuff.
