| Chance me for CAS?
Hi, I'm a rising senior who wants to apply ED to CAS. Here are my stats:
SATI: 2260 CR: 800 Ma: 750 Writing: 710 (I'm retaking it in October to boost my writing score)
SATII:
US History: 800 Bio E: 800 German: 800 Math II: 760 (will retake in November)
GPA:
UW: 3.55
W: 3.66
(let me explain. I had a major upward trend, my junior year GPA was 3.91 out of 4 UW and 4.23 out of 4.5 W)
Awards: NMSC Commended Scholar, Teacher's Award (Spanish)
Senior year courses:
AP Calculus BC, AP European History, AP English Literature, AP Physics, AP Spanish, Law and Government (couldn't take AP due to scheduling constraints, my guidance counselor will make it clear), Authentic Science Research (a 3-year research course)
College work: Taking online Intro to Calculus course through BYY
ECs:
Self-study of German language since summer 2010 (took a 3-week course last summer, taking a 2-week course this summer) (I hope to be fluent by January)
6 clubs (joining 2 more this fall)
Working on founding a Mock Trial club at my school (started planning last year, club starts this year)
~200-250 volunteer hours (estimated by the time I apply)
Taking Constitutional Law course at Columbia Univ. this summer
Going to do an internship in a lab at UPenn, studying genetics
Presented posters at 2 science fairs
Attended a biking/hiking/etc camp in summer of 2009 and 2010
Took part in a foreign policy essay contest and a economics essay contest (results pending)
Played piano since '02
Took part in a MUN conference in New York
Several debate tournaments (will enter more this fall, hope to win prizes)
Recs/essay:I expect my recs to be pretty good, not great though. I'll make sure to have a great essay.
