Wharton Math - Please Advise!

Hi. I am interested in applying to Wharton ED this year. Obviously, math skills are very important for Wharton, and I was just wondering, how do reading and writing scores factor in?

Overall my math scores are high.
-800 on SAT I Math
-800 on Math IIC
-36 on ACT Math Subsection.
-Throughout High school, 99 in Algebra 2, 100 in Geometry, 100 in Pre-calc, 99 in Calc BC 1, and I am rostered for AP Calc BC this coming year.

That being said, my reading/writing scores are not as high. (700 CR and 730 W for a 2230 overal SAT I, and a 35 English ACT, 33 Overall)

How big a factor/hindrance are these lower reading and writing scores in terms of my application? Thank you for your advice.

**IMPORTANT**Also, for my SAT writing, I got a 48/49 on the mc, but an 8 on the essay. Honestly, I thought it was a very good essay, and i'm upset that I only got an 8. It's not that i'm a bad writer or anything. I got a 35 on the ACT english, and a 33 on ACT reading, but I got a 6 on their essay as well! I am not a bad writer, trust me. I think my transcript, recommendations, and college essays would prove this as well. Will those two low essay scores ruin my chance of admission, or can my other high scores, high gpa, transcript, rank (1/998), extracurriculars, etc., make up for them? Hopefully.....

I think your scores are fine. Don't worry so much about your scores.

^agreed, one small thing like your essays scores isn't going to hurt you too much, since your other scores are fine

Wharton Math ? Business isn't math. Your math abilities will be going to waste if you go to Wharton. Further, Penn's math department and math/stat courses are at best mediocre. Try MIT with a management major or maybe UChicago with an economics or math/econ major. Also consider operation research/financial engineering programs. Don't lock yourself into Penn with ED. Apply EA at MIT or elsewhere.

As far as the writing test, forget about it. Read this about the essay score being based on essay length and not on quality. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/04/ed...tion.html?_r=1

I would check last year ED thread, if I remember correctly somebody with 33 and great ECs were rejected. At our school naviance, nobody got into Penn with an ACT less than 34.
