Restaurant near Penn

Sorry for asking what probably seems like a trivial question, but is there a Chipotle restaurant within walking distance of the campus? Thanks

40th and Walnut! In other words, as close to campus as you could get without actually being on campus.

Haha funny you asked. Chipotle is in almost literally a central location. Once you get to to be an upperclassman, you'll probably live a little too close.

And if you really like Mexican food, and don't need it to be exactly like it is everywhere else, and want to splurge a little, there's a great, great fun upscale Mexican restaurant called Distrito a couple short blocks north of there (40th north of Chestnut).

Penn actually has wonderful restaurants all over its general area, at all price points except super-expensive, and tremendous variety. Much as I appreciate Chipotle (I do), it's a shame to limit yourself to national chains in an area as food-rich as University City.

Thanks JHS but we are fat free vegans, so our choices for eating out are very limited. Son, will take low amounts of some oils in his diet, but most Mexican restaurants are usually too rich for him. Thanks once again, for taking the time to write.

Vegans are hardly unknown in Philadelphia, although fat-free veganism may be a challenge.

There is a Fresh Grocer at 40th and Walnut (i.e., within steps of the Chipotle) with a lot of prepared food and a cafe eating area, so that's probably another option for you. And you may want to check out Four Worlds Bakery, a few blocks from the Penn campus: http://fourworldsbakery.vpweb.com/About-the-Bakery.html
