How much will it hurt my chances for Huntsman?

Not that I am necessarily a really strong applicant to begin with. I have a high GPA, 2300 SAT (1530), SUPER GOOD essays that bring out my leadership skills and passion for my career choice, good ECs, couple internships (all science related though), and strong letters of rec. Not that ANYONE else has a high GPA or over 2300 SAT...

Anyway, my biggest issue is that my language proficiency in my target language is low. I actually know French and Korean more than my desired language because my school didn't even teach the language. I do know from what I have studied at home, but it is not enough. I am guessing it will cut my chances down by at least 75% or maybe i won't be able to apply at all?

What is your desired language? It would be wise to take the SAT II's for either French or Korean since you know them better. If you're applying ED, you shouldn't waste your time learning a new language based on the time constraints...

Dude, unless you’re a native speaker or really hate the language, apply as a Korean target. There are zero current Huntsman students who are targeting it. If you get accepted as a Korean target but decide you want to do something else, you can easily change target languages (as long as the shift doesn’t cause major issues).
