Under the writing section of the common app it has a 1000 character space for elaborating on an extra curricular-what exactly does this entail? With such a limited amount of space how can you explain the activity, your role in it, and it's impact on you?

It's not that hard. Keep everything concise and only write about what's important. Not sure why this is in the Penn forum though.
