Penn -general vibe

Hi:
So I'm considering applying to Penn ED. What's holding me back, however ,is the social life.
My application is done ,it's just a matter of pressing submit.
I am someone who isn't much of a partier, though I do enjoy having a good time. I go to parties, but I don't get "insanely drunk" whilst still having a good time, I guess is what I mean to say :P however, i'd say i have more fun just chilling with my friends and such.
How are the people, in general? What is there to do on weekends?
Also, is it true that Penn has a pre-professional feel, but does it maintain the theorical, intellectual feel?
I'm considering applying to CAS.

Stereotypes and gross generalizations aside (and you'll find MANY of those here on CC), Penn is large and diverse enough to have something for just about everybody. You would have no problem finding your niche at Penn, including the chill friends and social activities and intellectual atmosphere that you seek. For just a couple of examples, check out the Kelly Writers House (a veritable beehive of continuous intellectual and social activity, 7 days a week), and the Philomathean Society:

With a total of 10,000 undergrads (6,300 of whom are in CAS), many top-10 and top-20 liberal arts departments, extraordinary world-class research activity in a wide variety of fields, and a diverse collection of vigorous extracurricular, cultural, and social organizations and activities that's second to none, you would have no problem finding the intellectual and social dimensions of Penn that are right for you.
