| Decision && School: ACCEPTED!!!!! CAS
Stats:
SAT- never took, (a bit stupid of me, I must admit)
ACT: 33, 11 writing, 35 subsections on everything except math
AP/IB taken/scores: 5 English Lang, 5 US History, 3 Calc, will take Bio, German, English Lit, Stats, and Euro
GPA weighted: n/a
GPA unweighted: 3.95
Rank or % estimate: top 5%
Subjective:
Essays: Good, interesting, and fun- wrote my main on my first experience at German immersion camp when I knew no German as a semi-serious take on the "risk" topic. I also worked hard/shot out a really good "Why Penn" essay- it was truthful but not sappy.
Teacher Recs: Very good
Counselor Rec: Excellent- I'm the only one in her office, ever, so it was really great
Hook (if any): Not really sure- I'm well rounded, but that's not a "hook". I've won a fair amount of music awards and am bilingual through self-study, which might be seen as cool...
Location/Person:
State or Country: Washington state
School Type: Public, bad
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Gender: Female
Legacy Yes/No: No
Important ECs: President, Captain, Editor, etc: Former principal cellist in youth symphony; principal cellist of school chamber orchestra; principal cellist of all-city orchestra, lots of cello in a variety of other things. NHS president, German club president, lots of Math club... lots of clubs that I actually participate in.
Other Factors: Lots of summer activities... have gotten scholarships to/attended German language immersion camp 3x and am now on staff there, and also attended an engineering summer program at Notre Dame
General Comments/Congratulations/etc: YAY! YAY! YAY! Nobody in my family has ever left the state to go to school, and nobody I know is planning to do so, especially to a place like UPenn or the other schools I'm looking at, so I'm excited for that and EXCITED THAT I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO PENN!!!!!!!!!!!! |
