Recently I heard that applying to M&T significantly drops my chances at SEAS(my 2nd choice) because SEAS don't review my application seriously after I was rejected from M&T program.
deferred ed: M&T/wharton
i don't think thats true - getting in M&T is MUCH harder than getting into wharton or SEAS...if M&T was easier to get into than wharton/seas then that would be true
if they deferred so many M&T applicants, does that indicate that we are actually competitive for that program or does it mean that they just wanna compare us with the rest...cuz if we werent competitve in the 1st place, they should have rejected us ED for M&T and told us that we'll be considered for SEAS/Wharton ED....
i was thinking - M&T is like 50 spots-ish. they don't want to fill it up right away - so defer the qualified candidates - reject the non-qualified ones -> so now for the regular admission they have qualified candidates + the new regular ones - just have to narrow down to 50ish. then again they prob admitted 10ish students already...in the early round...so hopefully being deferred is a good sign.
no, check the facebook group, they have 22 admits already....and i dont hear of anyone being rejected from M&T ED...pretty much every1 is getting deferred....i dont get it, surely there are sum applicants who arent qualified and should get rejected straight out
@quag_mire: Are all the kids on the facebook group actually accepted, or are they just there for fun, or perhaps they are *gasp* expanding the M&T program size a bit? Heh, we can only dream =p.
