Would somebody be so kind as to upload a picture of the letter they sent in the waitlist information envelope? I remember them including a blue card (to choose status) as well as a copy of Form 8, but was there another paper as well? Thanks!

How do you know that they wait listed around 4%? A link would be great. Thanks in advance.

i was waitlisted, but declined to stay on list because I would choose other schools I got into over it even if they accepted me later. Good luck guys, you have one less person to worry about.

So 4% equates to around 900 offered a spot.
Why does this article say 2300!?

"The University of Pennsylvania placed 2,300 students on its wait list"

2300??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMFG

okay last year they had 22,646 applicants, so 2300 is more than 10%
which is more than the acceptance rate?
which means they put more applicants got waitlisted than admitted? *** i think it's a lie

I wouldn't trust the numbers in that article. It says that 500 more applicants were waitlisted this year than last year. That would be more like 1,300 this year, NOT 2,300.

It also says that 30% of waitlisted students will ultimately be accepted--no way. It's more like 30 students (at least that's what it was last year), especially since Penn already has admitted 170 more applicants this year than last year.

Maybe the author confused Penn with Penn State...

yeah that can't be right. penn said in their waitlist letter that only 4% of applicants were waitlisted = 880.

It seems like there's going to be a decent bit of movement on Penn's waitlist coming up soon. Keep this list updated if you hear anything!

It's fairly common among selective schools to waitlist an entire class worth or more of people, so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a waitlist of 2300, especially this year with such uncertainty about yields.
