yo i wasn't trying to be rude. i just think you shouldn't be asking about your chances and the path you should take at this point in your life. and you shouldn't say you don't care what people online think. . .it's what you would like to believe, but then you made this topic, no? you took the time to list every activity and every class you're in, so it's clear that you are "worrying" to an extent. I don't mean sweating and throwing up every night, but it's still on your mind. by all means, think about college, but uh. . .not too much? if you get to wharton you won't be able to ever enjoy life again, so do so while you are in high school

there's really no advice to give except take the hardest courses you can take and do well in them, and be active in productive things that you enjoy.

lol courtney your school sounds a lot like mine. So does your stats: I'm in DECA, MAO, and I go to a school in Florida...etc, cept i got a B+ in AP environ sci freshman year which screwed up my GPA. Also how do you have a 4.87 weighted??? thats pretty much impossible for a freshman unless you have like 4 AP classes or something.

Yeah I'm a junior and I'm applying to Penn this year but I didn't know a thing about colleges until last year, and still that knowledge was minimum. I think its great that you have your goals. good luck!

btw are you going to state next week?

one more thing, Mu Alpha Theta is pretty much ONLY strong and well known in Florida. Other states are generally not as good or do bigger and better things than MAO. So don't expect by being just on the team and winning trophies or w/e will help you significantly. If you really want to do a significant math competition do the AMC and qualify for the AIME or even harder USAMO (only 3 or so in Florida this year) if you can.

thanks for that chink. lol that sounds mean. but yeahhh the reason my w gpa is so high is because my school weights mad weird. its .5 for every honors class and 1 extra point for every AP. so there are kids in my grade with 5.0 as their UW gpa. and yeahhhh im going to states next weekk orlandoooo.=]. most likely ill loose but its all good. ive only won once, i won 5th place geoemtry team at one tournament so yeahh. haha.

and i really wanna do like AMC10 or 12 how do i register for next years?

You're odds look great but remember it's always somewhat of a crapshoot. I say whats really important is having some financial experience since that will set you apart and not many people will have that at your stage in the game.

Also try to do things like the Intel contest or whatever its called now. For some reason, college drool over that one.

Also, second the quality over quantity thing. Pick a few things you really care about and make sure you have accomplishments in those areas/clubs.
