Can you get cable tv in your room and if you can does any one know if it is possible to watch yankee games on the YES network?

All the rooms in the dorms have cable. Here is the list of channels:|| PVN Channel Lineup & Reception Status || My personal favorite is the Penn Movie Network, which often plays (not so) soft porn.

We don't get YES. But you could buy mlb.tv.

We also don't get Phillies games btw, because they don't deal with Comcast. Probably the worst thing about Penn, actually.

wait, not even phillies games?!?!?!?!? they are my second favorite team! that sux, cuz that means i can't watch the phillies at all, mlb tv wont work for them in philly!

Is it a good idea to have a TV tuner card installed in your laptop rather than buying a TV?

I know a lot of people use tuner cards. I tried it for awhile, but found that a TV is just easier to watch. To me, laptop means work, tv means relax time.

As a freshman at least, you probably won't watch a lot of tv, and certainly some people on your hall will have them. Wait some time and buy one later if you really find you want one.

Would strongly advise a TV. It's just more convenient, IMO, and easier for you and your friends to watch if you so choose. Also, if you game, having a separate TV is obviously much easier to hook up.

    definately get a TV

and yes, not getting the phillies games (or the flyers, or a lot of the sixers) is an abomination, though occasionally there is a game on nbc or phl17 and the always infuriating espn games (boooo, non-homer broadcasters). being able to get regular cable was actually a factor in my deciding to move off campus after sophomore year, but I'm one of those people who watches way too much tv
