I was wondering... are freshman students allowed to have overnight visitors of the opposite sex in the Towers?

i just visited and they seemed pretty cramped to me...and loud. but i guess thats just part of the "experience"

Small rooms in Towers, but well organized. Raise the bed and make storage underneath (can even fit the dresser drawers there if you want to). There is plenty of room for plastic under-bed storage boxes. Get bins for the closet shelves for better organization. Store your refrigerator under the bed or in the closet space. Use a laundry bag or a narrow pop-up hamper rather than a big laundry basket. Put the TV on top of the dresser between the windows. You can even fit a small bookcase inbetween the bed and desk (12 inch wide modular type worked well). There are desk hutches (big enough for a printer) with built-in lights, so you don't need a desk lamp. They give you a plastic waste basket. It's really not so bad, just don't bring a lot of stuff you don't really need.

Regarding opposite sex visitors: be considerate of your roommate! Ask ahead of time. Nobody wants to be sleeping in the lounge the night before a test. Also keep in mind that there is no privacy in such a small space.

Well there are other freshmen options...personally, I prefer more space.

I'm just a mom, but I wanted to pass along that my daughter has loved her time in Tower B and has even signed up to live in Tower C next year in a single! The location is great and she made a lot of friends. If you want more space, try for a single in Tower C. That building is a mix of freshmen and upper classmen. The singles are small, but it will be your space. I agree with lkf that the rooms in Towers have lots of possibilities for organization and not to bring stuff you really don't need. The closets are actually decent-sized.

There are lots of freshmen options (just check Panther Central), but I believe most freshman singles are in Tower C. The double rooms in the honors dorm (Forbes) are larger, but there isn't enough space for all the freshmen who want to live there.

I want to have a roomate, but having my own room might be nice too. I don't see why it would be any less social that way.

About size. When I visited I got to see one of the Tower rooms, and actually it looked big compared to some of the other rooms I've seen. Of the three colleges I've visited, and several that my sister visited, that's one of the largest rooms we've seen.

You can get singles in Lothrop as a freshman also. Those rooms are a little bigger than Tower C. Rumor has it that they are renovating the whole dorm over the summer.

Renovation = happy me. hehe

Lothrop is great if you're a nursing student or have classes in the medical center. It's not as convenient to Market Central as some of the other dorms though.
