First waitlist letter here. Does anyone know historical stats on getting off of the list? Or where I might find that besides contacting the admissions office of course!

yes its a shot in the dark why someone gets in and someone doesn't, isn't it?! It has been an ugly dose of reality today. I'm disappointed, but 9900 applications for only 800 spots is pretty amazing. Saw the stats in pamphlet for the last 4 years - 4 to 140 students pulled off waitlist depending upon the year. Not sure what to do! Didn't anticipate a wait list situation. Will need to think and strategize this week.

D got wait listed too. Didn't get into any schools on the west coast :( still lots to hear from. I'd like her here as her sister is heading off to boarding school in VA next year. 2 kids in one state would be nice.

My D wait listed as well. She has some other nice offers and there won't be any merit money coming off the wait list, so she will likely pass. However, it looks like we have until April 15 to decide whether to stay on the wait list or not.

Just a glimmer of hope here. My son was wait listed last year by both the University of Richmond and Wake Forest. He was offered a spot at both schools from the wait list. The Wake Forest offer had no monetary award attached. Richmond offered a very generous package. He has been extremely happy this year at Richmond. Even though it was a nerve wracking experience for me, and we lost our deposit to another school, it has worked out very well for him.
