I thought I would get at least $15000 in merit scholarships. I can't go unless I get that much because of my financial situation. But I only got the Torero Pride scholarship, which is the least amount of $5000. Yeah. I am extremely disappointed.

I was expecting at least 10k (my estimated award on the net price calculator) and got absolutely nothing. I got large amounts of merit money from every other school (20k from University of Miami!). USD is my top choice but I don't know how I will be able to afford it now.

I was also disappointed. I received only loans and no merit money. It was my first choice until now. Miami gave me $24k a year. That is hard to pass up.

I got the Torero pride only. I thought I would get more than that. Kind of disappointed.

I got my award letter last week. I received the Presidential Scholarship ($10,000), $2800 in work study, $9708 for the Cal Grant and my USD scholardship was over $17,000! I only need to pull out a USD Trust Loan (no interest) for $4,000, because the remaining $12,000 I can pay with money I have saved up for college! Not a bad way to start off college! I am excited to become a Torero!

On my awards status I have almost all loans but my EFC is low (1291) and I am shocked that I do not have more financial aid from the university, but I was wondering if my status will change because I still need to send in some forms like the Parent Income Certification, the dependent Verification Worksheet etc ( I haven't submitted then yet because I was barely notified today that I need to turn the forms in) Could that be the reason that I have no financial Aid?

That's weird. My EFC is around 1000 too, but they gave me about 50,000 in scholarships and grants. I don't think sending in the forms will change anything because they only post them after your award is released.
