No, I haven't received a notification yet. Does anyone know when they will be sent out?

I called the Capstone office last Friday and was told we would receive them this week!

    Good luck to everyone!

    memom,
Have you heard from Capstone yet? We usually hear things pretty quickly since we're so close...but nothing so far. I called Capstone, too, on the 27th. They said by March 5th everyone should have been notified. Since that's Monday, I guess the notices should be going out already. Son is starting to get "pumped" about USC...I hope he gets into Capstone, because I think that will be the deciding factor for him.

    Greenville,

I also called Capstone again on Tuesday. The lady I spoke with (I think Laura) told me they were being mailed out that day and Wednesday. Would you let everyone know when your son receives his? I'm in NC and usually a day behind you with the mail. I may call Monday if he hasn't received anything by then.
My son is also "pumped" about USC. We toured four colleges and USC was by far his favorite. I really hope he get in Capstone.
Good luck and let us know.

    Memom,
Nothing in the mail today. It's making me kind of wary...maybe my son isn't going to get an invitation to Capstone. When he applied to USC, though, he was eligible to apply for the Honors college, and he got a nice scholarship......so he's really hoping Capstone comes through. He even went on to UChoose and tried to put in Capstone as a roommate search criteria, but it said he was ineligible, which is what it has said since October. We thought maybe that would change if he had gotten in. I will post as soon as he (hopefully) hears anything! Good luck to your son also!
PS . Have you gotten a letter about Scholars Day yet?

    Greenville,

I didn't get anything either. My son received the Cooper Scholars Award for OOS applicants which comes with in state tuition. I'm also hoping he's got a good shot at Capstone as well but I'm anxious to hear so we can go ahead and commit. My thinking is that the Capstone letters could not have been sent out Tuesday and Wednesday like I was told. Let me know if your son gets his letter tomorrow...Good Luck!
When my son received his scholarship offer, there was a sentence at the bottom of the letter giving the date of Scholars Day. It said more information to come in a few days but I have not received anything yet. Have you?

I didn't realize you could get Capstone if you got the Cooper...

We also did not get a letter about Scholar's Day yet.

    namtrag,

For some reason, my son did not want to apply to Honors College...He's always wanted to be in the Capstone Scholars program instead. I was told that you could receive a Capstone invitation (as long as you met the requirements) but could not do both Honors College and Capstone...

Oh, OK. I thought there was a Capstone merit scholarship that came along with the Capstone program.

Honors and Capstone don't overlap. Each is an enrichment program. You can have any scholarship and be in Capstone(as long as you're invited to join),except the McNairs and Carolinas are given automatic acceptance to Honors.
Namtrag..as far as I know theres no specifically named Capstone merit scholarship.
It seems like a great program, they also run their own summer study abroad and have funding available for it..this summers trip is to China.

From what I have read, most ( if not all? ) Capstone scholars have some type of scholarship, but Capstone itself is not a scholarship program. There are also some students that receive scholarships , but do not recive a Capstone invitation.
It seems like the GPA's and SAT scores are going up every year as USC becomes more competitive, so it's hard to say where the range will fall from year to year.
I hope everybody here that is interested receives a letter soon ! Good luck to all.

    memom,
Son's scholarship letter also had the line at the bottom about Scholars Day info to come in a few days. That was the last thing we've gotten from USC. Maybe they are running behind on things due the number of applicants. I saw where the online orientation sign up on VIP changed from late Feb. to March 15. My son had the same thoughts as yours...for whatever reason, he preferred Capstone over Honors.

Got Capstone Invitation today!! Son is super excited! A form has to be filled out and returned by May 1st, and there are housing choices to be filled out. I bet we'll hear from you next, Memom! Letter is dated March 2nd, so I guess they were sent out Friday. Good luck to all who are waiting to hear!

Got a Capstone invitation today and I'm in NC, so others can't be too far behind.

Good luck to everyone else and congrats to Greenville...
