Birthday cake delivery?

Has anyone found a good place from which to have a birthday cake delivered to the dorm?

D will be turning 18 soon!

contact the resident assistant (or whatever they are calling them now) maybe they'll have an idea for you
also, perhaps the Parents Association has ideas.
I dont recollect dining services at USC offering this service but maybe they do...

My daughter's birthday is fast-approaching and I ordered these wonderful little petit fours (forgive spelling) from Divine Delights in California. The company is online and ships anywhere. They are a little pricey, but a very special treat. A variety of products are offered. Shipping drives up the price because they move them fast to keep them fresh.

D decided she wanted a cheesecake, so I ordered one from here:

The Palmetto Cheesecake Co.

It ended up being rather more expensive than these prices would suggest (I got d the "Berry Explosion" which is not listed on the web site). However the fellow who runs it was very responsive and delivered the cheesecake to the front desk d's dorm within the hour window promised.

D gives the cheesecake kudos, said it was delicious!

D's roommate has also had a birthday since they've been in Columbia. In the case of the roommate, the mother called dining services (and only the day before!) and my d went and got the cake and brought it up to their room (since their residence has a dining hall).

while we were there for Parents Weekend we saw two groups of USC students celebrating birthdays at the new cupcake bakery in the Vista (across the street from Blue Marlin). Cupcakes are all the rage here in NY and so it seems as well in Columbia..the place was pretty busy on a thursday night.
I dont know if they deliver to the dorms but its something to keep in mind...

We tried "cupcakes" on Thursday night. They are homemade but they were not as well made (dough had overflowed the cups which detracted from the appearance) and they were a bit on the dry side. We may be spoiled in Dallas with "Sprinkles" but they were certainly not in the same league and at $2.75 ea seemed a bit overpriced for the quality.

yes they did seem overpriced, and they were much less decorated then I've seen them elsewhere... but i guess its a novelty thing, and the 2 big groups of students inside did seem to be enjoying themselves, maybe b/c of the novelty aspect.Just another birthday idea for parents I thought.
