USC BFA in theater w/MT minor

I'm looking for anyone's experience or knowledge of USC's program. Their website is pretty unclear about how the minor pieces together w/ the theater major.

What are admission criterion for academics, out of state acceptance rates, any info regarding the program itself, competitiveness, etc.

Anyone have students there or know of present/past students. Thank you in advance!!

Usc

We toured there in spring 2006 and got answers to some of your questions.
A student can do a BA in theatre and the MT minor but not a BFA in acting and the MT minor. (The BFA takes too many units to allow the minor and the minor's classes are partly in the Music school, partly in the Theatre school so the coordination of the schedules may be difficult for the BFA student, anyway. Under the BA, there are far fewer studio classes so the coordination wouldn't be a problem.) The BFA acting students are treated as a cohort all the way through the four years and are cast in a yearly show that involves the whole cohort (about 22). Students are allowed to audition for other plays and musicals in addition to the class play. There are showcases for the graduating class. There is not an emphasis on musical theatre within the acting BFA, although some students study for MT privately, according to the school.
Hope this helps.

Regarding criteria for admissions: Like many BFA programs, the audition can count for as much as 80% of the admissions decision. Also, it is a private school, so out-of-state students are just as likely to be admitted as in-state students.
