I'm not gonna lie, the C's will hurt you. Whatever happens, there's not much you can do now though.

Lol, you won't get a Trustee/Presidential scholarship. And the C's will get you somewhat screwed over, to be honest. (I got one C+ last semester too, fudge)

I'm in a similar situation - all honors/adv/ap classes, but I got one C from an AP class, B-'s in two classes, a B+ in one, and an A from a music class (which won't be counted.) The class in which I got a C isn't related to my intended major.

I didn't really encounter any hardships such as family members in the hospital or any injuries or even a home remodeling. Is there anything I can do to maybe salvage those 1st semester grades, which is the worst semester I've ever had? Should I write a letter, call them up...anything?

btw I'm a film production hopeful.

Write a letter-- definitely. I wrote a letter explaining why I barely passed calc. last year with a C (74), and I definitely think that helped, and I just got accepted to film production

Could I ask you what was your reason for your calc class? I'm not trying to pry, but my real reason isn't like a divorce or a family member in a hospital. There were family tensions, but it's nothing I can use to explain why I didn't do too well in my 1st semester.

I think an honest answer I would write is that the classes were difficult for me, and I struggled to understand sometimes. What I wouldn't write, but is true, is that I also didn't have much interest in those classes...

This isn't looking good for me.

My first semester ended like this
AP Calc AB - C
AP English - A
Honors Physics - C
Government - B

I alreayd wrote a letter to explain them as well as other high school grades because my mom has been in and out of the hospital throughout high school so I had pretty much fill her household responsibilities

She went into the hospital the night before my first finals for this semester and I included that, would that offer me any leeway? I hope...
(I probablly coulda pulled off B-'s in those C classes if id done better on the finals which I didn't study for at all basically...I didn't write that in the letter though)
