In terms of housing in proximity to the business school, Marshall's buildings are centralized. The closest buildings would be Marks Hall, Marks Tower, Pardee Tower, and Trojan Hall. The Radisson, New, North, Birnkrant, Parkside, and Parkside II are also fairly close.

All of those buildings, except for the Parksides are within a 1-5 minute walk from the library

Keep in mind that the entire USC campus is pretty compact. During orientation, the faculty/staff members kept emphasizing that even tho they're not in the best physical condition, they can get from one corner of campus to the opposite corner in ten minutes, so we're not talking a sprawling campus where your dorm or campus apartment location is crucial. Compared with many of the campuses we toured, USC is one of the more "compact" and easy to manuver.

Flour is a popular choice. Along with Parkside, it is one of the few options that offers suites. The building is older, but people who live there find it comfortable. It is in a location convenient to the Lyon Center (athletic center) and Cafe 84 (food court). You can't use meals at Cafe 84, though, (only dining dollars), so for convenience many Flour residents get the Trojan Meal Plan. Both dining halls are about a 10 minute walk away.

People always compare Flour and Parkside. Parkside Suites are newer and more "luxurous" but Flour suites offer kitchenettes and common rooms not available at Parkside. The new Arts and Humanities Residential College will also offer Parkside style suites with small common rooms; there will also be kitchens on the floors.

so how exactly do bathrooms work? does everyone lug their own stuff and clean up or do most people leave their stuff there and share everything? And about towels, razors, shampoo, etc etc? Just wondering what it's like

For tumblweed, you definitely tend to bring your own stuff into the shower every time. No one is allowed to leave things in there, technically. I had a bag that I brought into the shower that was made for such things- you can pick it up when you are buying college supplies.

Srabiee- It depends on which ocean you want to get to. I know of one beach that is twenty minutes away, but I'm not sure if that is the closest one (It is the one near LAX, we had a bonfire there my freshman year).

You can get to Santa Monica in a little under 20 minutes, if there's no traffic.

About 20-25 minutes to Manhattan Beach without traffic.

Traffic, of course, increases the drive time exponentially.

Dockweiler and El Segundo (the ones near the airport) are probably closer, but eh, not the best beaches, imo.
