My D applied and was accepted this year but has decided to go elsewhere, so I doubt we'll ever see what her aid package would have been. She submitted the optional Part I of the application in October, and then completed her application in late December, after the Dec. 10 deadline for scholarship consideration. I'd thought that she'd missed the scholarship deadline, but she later got the letter saying that she wasn't being considered for one of the top two scholarships but remained in the running for others (it was only then that I recalled there'd been an early Part I of the app). I've wondered if that letter was in error, or if having filed Part I earlier in the fall had established a date of application for her that made her eligible for scholarships? Though this information won't impact her, it might be good for her younger brother to know.

No, but you might wanna log onto your USC site and see what her package is. Just recently today SC dropped a loan of mine and added grant money, I have literally only like 2.5k a year in loans and have to pay like 6600. That's cheaper than majority of instate tuition, and they actually ADDED to my package.

I guess she won't ever be getting her package. We waited and waited for it to arrive and it never did. I finally checked her aid document status online and saw that USC is still awaiting documentation of the parent and student assets, though we'd never received notification that they needed it. There's no point in submitting that documentation now since she's already notified USC that she's chosen to go to another school.

That is the reason she wasn't considered for a scholarship. The student's WHOLE application had to be submitted by the deadline.
