Day before Thanksgiving

I'm already purchasing airline tickets for my d to come home for Thanksgiving. Do professors schedule around the fact that many students may miss that day or should I get her the latest flight possible so that she doesn't miss any classes? Also, do you know approximately when they run the shuttles to the airport? Thanks.

If you can wait until after orientation to book, she will have registered for her classes and will know exactly when her final exams are scheduled. At many schools, the finals schedule is inviolate and professors must adhere to it so they have to hold finals at the scheduled time, which she will know as soon as she registers for her classes.

Final exams are nowhere near Thanksgiving. That isn't the problem. She would be missing classes, not finals. Those are about 3 weeks later. Later in the day would be good, but I agree with the notion of waiting until she registers. Then she will know at what times she has classes on Wednesday.

Oops... I was obviously not paying attention. Let me revise my answer: in my older son's experience at another school, more than a few profs decide to cancel late afternoon classes on the day before Thanksgiving.
