hahaha.
DON'T WORRY.
about the score getting there before your app does, i would counteract that by getting your app in soon. and communicating with them that you are applying for rhp and your scores are sent in.

for the collegeboard free score reports, i didn't bother except for usc.
you MIGHT wanna check with them if it's really bugging you, but i wouldn't obsess over it [unless you really don't want to have collegeboard resend them later.]

nooo. if you think your english teachers know you best, i don't think it matters where the recs come from.
mine are from science and english cuz right now i wanna double major in biological sciences and neuroscience so my biology teacher was my best bet. [ and maybe possibly slightly kinda minor in film? as like a fun side thing lol.]

i didn't really finish my app yet. my deadline for guidance is thurs. i have all of them written out on an app, but i'm just gonna check em over then transfer them to the actual app. and then hopefully my english recc comes through and then i'm pretty much done with part i.

and i have ideas for my essay, but for part 2 i'm basically screwed.

I just gave my recommendation forms to the teachers. This is nerve-wracking...

More people should come to this thread. It'll calm my nerves if "we're all in this together", haha. LURKERS, WHERE ART THOU???

Oh, yeah, I put a picture of myself...It's slightly photoshopped for lighting, but not heavily-so. It's not a beauty contest, so I guess it'll do.

The deadline is drawing closer...! My chest hurts with the anticipation, and the anxiety. And tomorrow, by 8 AM, my SAT scores will be out...wish me luck! My counselor was really prompt with the recommendation, but the same doesn't hold true for the other teachers...it's making me a little antsy, since we have Thanksgiving break next week. So they have to give it to me by tomorrow or Friday. AHHH, PLEASE TEACHERS, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME!

Oh my GOD, you know Part II of the application? Well, there are these "Forms to Download"...but only after you finish Part II. Except those forms need to be signed by the counselor and everything, and tomorrow's the last day before we leave for Thanksgiving Break...so HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO GET THE FORMS TO MY COUNSELOR? The only option would be to finish AND submit my essay TONIGHT...That is...hell.

hey guys!

I'm also applying to the resident honors program, and I though it would be nice to know you guys =)

so how'd you guys do on the SAT in Oct or Nov?

I just got my scores yesterday, and I got a 2170 =[
I'm hoping to score 2200+ this December!

Just wondering, are all of you guys applying all straight A students?

Also, have you guys all turned in your Part 1 application yet? I turned in Part II already, but not my Part I, so is this a problem?

hey crayzii8, nice to meet you!

um, question: how did you do part ii before part i? i don't think it matters (really) unless you want to go for schols. in which case, you want to get cracking on part i and get that in wicked soon.

that sucks, vicki.
what're you gonna do? I just sent my part i by priority today. I'm getting my USC ID thingy for part ii mondayish and doing the essay that night. i know what i'm writing about, but i have to just outline and write it...
prolly let the 'rents read it. i don't think i'm going to go to a english teacher. :/
i rather them see me for what i am. i'll proofread for forever though.

and sat-wise, my practices have been like 2070s. reallllly high writing and reading though. i just need a +700 on math :/

taking them in decemberr.

and so far, on cc, it's just been me and rosinyangster applying. =O
there are definitely more though.

and i feel like it's an assumption that everyone applying is a straight-A student [at least with final grades].
i'm fourth in my class. and that's with not-perfect term grades. so i don't think it reallly matters. you just have to be committed.

Welcome to the thread, crayzii8!
I doubt that everyone applying is a straight-A student. I'm not, if that makes you feel any better.
2170 is a good score! There's not that much difference between a 2170 and a 2200. As long as you have good credentials in terms of extracurriculars and such, I think you have a great shot.
My November scores just came back. I got a 2280, but honestly, my rank is terrible.

dopaminescene, How do you get your USC ID? Do you just have to call them and request for one, or what?

And I'm sure you can turn in Part II before Part I. It's not a problem as long as you turn your Part I in before the deadline.

Thanks for the help guys!

dopaminescene, are we supposed to get a USC ID number from the Part 1, THEN filling out part 2 with that number?

That makes a lot of sense now that I think about it, because wouldn't the admissions people for Part 2 wonder "Why is this kid submitting an application with only 2 years of school?" hahaha

By the way guys, my names Alan =D

what are your names?

Craz and other applicants,
It might be a good idea to exchange names through the Private Message system for your own safety. Sometimes it is better to be cautious on the internet.
Best of luck with your applications to the RHS at SC.

idk. i did what rosinyangster did because i didn't know you could do that until friday.
i haven't finished my essay yet though. i'm working on it and hope to finish all that today and tomorrow. and those forms to download don't look like they apply to us, rosinyangster. we already did teacher reccs, i sent my transcript [ i think] with my application, and sat score report is direct to them. so we don't need them, idon't think. i'm gonna call them monday just in case because of the USC id thingy.

all i need to physically send is one recc letter next week!

and then finish that essayy.... =(

Hey dopaminescene!

Actually, I think the "Parts to Download" are required. My counselor did this for one of her students four years ago, and she specifically asked me to give the "Part II" letter of recommendation to her.

But don't worry! I know the website says "Allow 3-5 days for your application to be processed," but it only took 1 day for me to get my USC ID number.

so... only us 3 huh? =P

and they said it's unnecessary!
and i still don't have my usc id, so i can't do it right now anyway.
:/
working on my essay. i feel like it's okay.
my app sucks really. i don't think i'll get in at all.
