There is great athletic tradition, but also was honored by having 18 Fulbright Scholars and recipients of many other prestigious scholarships/fellowships

Alumni in Georgia, 2000 miles away from campus, raised funds for a record number of 5 partial scholarships for Georgia SC students

Students can be found all over the world wearing cardinal and gold USC shirts

Most classes are small, some with just 4 or 6 students.

The world famous cellist, Ralph Kirshbaum, holds the Piatigorsky Endowed Chair for Violoncello and makes beautiful music at the Thornton School

The football coach is honored for his community service work

A huge fundraiser is held at the Olympic pool, Swim with Mike, to raise scholarship funds for handicapped athletes across the country

Flowers can be found all over the campus

The Gamble House in Pasadena is being preserved by the USC School of Architecture

The academic parade of students at Commencement shines bright in a rainbow of colors

SC is the kind of university where......

An alumnus is the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong

The Trojan Marching Band plays the Alma Mater at a football player's funeral who often said while at SC, "I'm living my dream."

Creativity is nurtured and graduates build companies such as X-Box, Wham-O, MySpace and ThatGame

A university marine science center is located on beautiful Catalina Island

The Poet Laureate of California is a professor of English

Faculty and students take pride in the immaculate campus

A program has started to train wounded Marine vets to enter the film industry

Since 1904 nearly 400 Trojans have participated in the Olympic Games

Faculty and staff voluntarily donated a record $1.1 million to the USC Good Neighbors Campaign to assist those in the surrounding community

KUSC is now the largest listener-supported classical music station in the nation

Many alumni from the Class of '58 returned for 50-Year Reunion Weekend and donated $165,000 for Widney House and the new student center

The USC Shoah Institute is preserving the priceless legacy of Holocaust survivors by digitizing more than 100,000 hours of videotaped survivor testimonies

School of Theatre alumni continue to bring home Oscars and Golden Globes year after year

A small statue of an early mascot, Tirebiter, is found along a campus walkway

The first member of his family to attend college later became Chairman of the USC Board of Trustees

Gifts enabled the building of the Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging Center and the Molecular & Computational Biology Building which will provide new breakthroughs to improve human health

The campus is wheelchair friendly and special programs support handicapped students

Correction: The band student suffers from Cerebral Palsy, not MS. I regret the error.

Incredible information...But my favorite part? The humanity of our faculty, alumni and students...they serve our world, country, our state, and our community, often without fanfare.

I can truly say that I learned about the need for charitable acts yes, first at home, but then from my sorority at SC many years ago. Lessons never forgotten are learned here.

Trojan Marching Band Trumpet Player

....just discovered the TMB trumpet player mentioned above graduated with a double major in German and print journalism. He was awarded the Spirit of Troy honor, given to the most inspirational player in the band.

Wow, this is awesome.

"An alumnus is the first man to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong" ---> I totally did not know this, but it makes me happy... being an astronaut would totally be like my dream job.
