Sorority Spring/Informal Recruitment??

I've heard that some USC sororities have "informal" recruitment in the spring. Does anyone know which sororities do this and what the recruitment process is like if it's "informal"? I'm a spring admit who is really bummed about missing rush! Thanks for the help!

Your best bet is to wait until the following fall. Some of the houses do Spring Recruitment, but they are typically the bottom ones or new ones that didn't meet their number targets in the fall.

agreed with the above. Not all houses do the informal thing, typically just the ones that don't meet quota for whatever reason. Some have little events, some send e-mails to girls they know who aren't already in a house, some just straight up ask around for more members. Wait till fall when all the houses are looking for new members.

Thanks so much for your help! My only concern is that it may be harder to rush as a sophomore? How many sophomores do the houses admit in the fall? Is it harder to get a bid if you're a sophomore?

Yes, somewhat harder, but houses still take a decent number of sophomores. The dropoff from freshman to sophomore is not nearly as big as from sophomore to junior. The houses doing Spring Recruitment would be happy to take you in your sophomore year, it's the more selective houses where things being a sophomore is somewhat of a disadvtange to you.

Still, when it comes down to it, if a house wants you i doubt theyre gonna care if you a freshie or soph. They get that spring admits can't rush as freshmen.
