Buad 304 and writing 140 lab

Almost all the lecture times overlap with the lab which only meets like twice a semester, and lectures are once every two weeks so chances are there would only be maybe one time when this is a problem... Is anyone have this issue when signing up? I am considering just not signing up for the lab but probably still attendin is this a bad idea?

Yes that is a bad idea. You have to sign up for all required sections in order for a course to count.

There is a form that you can fill out and turn in that will allow you to register for 2 courses that have time conflicts. It has to be signed by both professors.

What if I signed up for the wednesday lab from a different writing course? I doubt that would work... This has to be an issue for a lot of freshman tho I would think because almost all the writinng 140's have that Tuesday night lab and 304 lectures reserved for freshman are all Tuesday night

Wombat I was having the same conflict so I signed up for a weds lab and intend on getting it fixed by an advisor the first week of school. Unfortunately, I just found out I only got a 3 on calc so I'm not exempt from math 118. Hopefully it's not a big deal that I'll be taking math second semester instead...

amy12, I'd strongly recommend you do 118 in the fall if possible. You will also have to do math218, and then buad310 (which I believe you can't take until you've completed 218). So just based off that one class, you'll be held back from taking 2 other courses needed for the business major.

And I do know a few people who took the Writ140 lab at the same time as their BUAD304 lecture, so it is possible. But yeah, I believe you have to get some kind of form approved.

I would call your advisor and ask for a schedule override so that you can register for both the BUAD lecture and the WRIT lab at the same time. They're pretty chill about the writing lab, so you can just go to one that's held on a different night.

You could ask the writing program for permission to register in the other lab section

I had Bresnahan. He was a pretty nice guy, though my sister didn't like him when she had him (though that was 3 years ago). But he did try to make class as interesting as he could.

The writing 140 "LAB" is just going to Bovard and watching people speak. You can definitely sign up for the other night or whatever; it's the same exact thing. One night I had dance practice so I just went to the other night instead.

I want to take BUAD 304 this semester, but the section I want to take has a D clearance and says it's reserved for freshman starting in the fall.

Will these classes be available for anyone to take when orientation is over or not?

The Writing 140 lab only meets twice a semester? Is that true? Has this happened for everyone, or is it just an odd occurrence because of the teacher you had?
