Personally, I think calling advertisers is a waste of time and a bit much. Sure, USC deserves to be up there, but what is some random company going to care about it? These advertisers only care about the amount hits per day and frankly it our little thread won't make that big of an impact.

Everyone knows I'm a huge USC pusher, but we need to be realistic.

Honestly, the choice isn't ours. This is a private forum that is profit based. Should USC be a top CC University? Of course. But who cares if the head of CC doesn't think that way? Obviously if we are in the top 30 colleges and the other top CC universities are top 100, USC will outshine them. Its not a matter that concerns us at the present moment.

I'm all for USC being listed, but it doesn't hurt me any less if its not. I'm not going to stop going to USC because its not on some angry forum moderators list of best universities.

Some of you may have followed the title of the thread, but not some of the individual posts. I, personally, am not as concerned about USC being listed in the TOP University list, as I am about Roger (the lead Moderator for CC) showing obvious bias, and placing a thread in the permanent window (at the top of USC threads, in the Hot Topics area) that is derogatory about USC. At a minimum, the thread should be removed because it is almost two months old. Most angering is that it was placed in a location in which it never moves down (even if no one posts to it).

I challenge any of you to find ONE (one single thread) in ANY other University's folder, that is derogatory against the university, that was placed there (originated) by a moderator, and that was placed in the permanent window at the top of the school's folder. If you can find one, then I will accept that Roger's thread was not targeted and biased against USC.

Lastly, it shows tremendous arrogance for Roger to ignore our private messages. Sure, it is Roger's website. But if it weren't for the 81,000 posts to CC - just in USC's folder, I doubt that Roger (and CC) would be getting as much "ad" revenue as they are getting. I would bet that USC's total number of posts (over 81,000) exceed the total number of posts of hundreds of dozens of other universities. (look at this link, all the schools that begin with "S", count them up, and see if all of them come to the total of USC).

Maybe somebody should contact Hobsons which acquired College Confidential site in 2008 and complain.

lockn-
I don't know if you are just trying to be funny (I don't get it if you are), or if you are suggesting that lovetocamp is a conspiracy theorist. Since you spent the time to copy, paste, and quote- you should have read it also. The post was factually stated- there was no speculation of conspiracy.

I would be interested in an explanation of your comment.

yeah, i agree with lovetocamp's post...theres no reason why USC should be singled out and given a bad name just because roger is a UCLA fanatic or w/e.. but what are you gonna do? maybe i'll start a new website specifically for USC or something :P

Some of you might want to leave a "visitor message" on Roger_Dooley's CC profile (linked below) and politely ask for these changes. He might be more inclined to respond since these messages are viewed by the public or he may just delete them. It's worth a shot either way.
