Quick question(s): if I were to apply to Engineering as Undeclared, would it lesson my chances of admission? Would it be wiser to actually pick a specific type of engineering? And also, lets say I am not accepted into an engineering major, could I still be considered for entrance into USC in another program? Thank you for your help.

Hi, I'm a current student at USC studying Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering.

If you're not sure what kind of engineering you'd like to major in, then you can go ahead and select undeclared engineering. One of the cool things about engineering at USC is that you're not locked into whatever major you put on your application. For example, if you start as mechanical engineering but then decide that civil engineering is a better fit, switching your major is definitely possible.

If you want to be considered for other programs at USC, there's an option on the application to select both a first and second choice major. This is where you could put engineering as your first choice, and then another major (in the business school, the College, etc.) as a second choice.
