Guaranteed Admission to USC.

One kid at my school is saying that he got accepted into USC already.

He doesn't play a sport or anything. Is there any other ways to get guaranteed acceptance besides playing a sport?

Thanks

He's lying, they haven't even looked at applications yet.

Unless his parent is on the board of trustees or something....but that's not likely.

Ask him to show you his acceptance letter on USC letterhead.

Possibly, through USC's Neighborhood Academic Initiative - a college prep program for students from high schools in the area around USC. Those that finish the program and also have high GPA and SAT scores, might have essentially guaranteed acceptance...

You would know if your high school had this, though. I can't imagine any other way to get a guaranteed acceptance except maybe if he has perfect GPA and SAT etc...

Could be the common confusion with the UC's. Some CA high school students have recently received a letter for guaranteed admittance to the UC system- specifically UC Davis, UC Irvine, or UC Riverside. This goes to the top 4% of each class.

Either that or War Chant is correct.

His parents must be wealthy donors, otherwise he/she is a liar.

Maybe he just has really good stats and is cocky enough to assume that he's guaranteed admission?
