Applying to Marshall

"an applicant can designate Business as a first choice major, Undeclared as a second choice major and be rejected by Marshall but accepted by CLAS."

If you applied to Marshall

i saw this earlier, and wonder if it's a better idea to pick business as first choice major, and economics from CLAS as second or pick business as 1st and undeclared as 2nd choice?
or it doesn't really matter?

Is econ your second choice? If so, pick econ.

It is very difficult and risky to second guess all the intricacies of admissions and try to play games with majors in order to make it easier to gain admittance.

The two choices you present give you no discernible advantage either way. What gives you the advantage is submitting an application that shows a strong academic record and the passions you have pursued that all tie into your preferred studies at USC.

From the USC Marshall Admissions website:
You will be considered individually on the merits of your academic record and potential for success in YOUR field of interest. (emphasis mine)

Pick the majors that you want in the order of YOUR preference.

Good luck!

actually, i was thinking does it affect my chances of being accepted to CLAS whether i check Undeclared or Economics from (CLAS) if i get rejected from Marshall.

I really want to get in Marshall.. and if i don't get in as a freshman, i would want to try transferring to it the next year within USC.
