QuestBridge, UVa and the summer session!

So, for anyone considering applying to UVa through QuestBridge, I highly recommend it!
I just received word that me and my fellow QuestBridge UVa'ers are going to get to start at UVa this summer through the summer session which is awesome (and unexpected news!). I also already have my email set up and am able to start planning out classes and everything. (: (I feel like I'm transforming into a real college student. XD)

For all current (and former students)
What is the summer session like? Do you have recommendations for *great* classes to take during the summer session (that hopefully won't be the most difficult thing ever because I'd like to take the summer to adjust to a completely new environment! (I'm a Northern Cali kid. The idea of a hot summer is a bit scary XD))? What are summers in Charlottesville really like (other than the intense humidity and temp)? What are some awesome things to do in Charlottesville (that aren't expensive and will be easy to use public transportation to get to)? And finallyyy, does anyone know if there's a possibility to stay at my dream dorm (Brown <3) during this summer session?

I'm going to search through old forums to try and find the answers to my questions. But any updated info would be much appreciated. (: I'm so excited to start school at UVa! :D

Thanks!

You definitely can't stay at Brown over the summer, it is used by conference services.
Most classes are easier over the summer. I say this having attended summer sessions. Can I say A+ in 300 level math class. Lol.
Search the forum for things to do in cville, I do highly recommend Fridays after Five which you can get to via Free Trolley to the downtown mall.

My D stayed last year for summer session - there were actually quite a few activities on Grounds. There's a great farmer's market that you can get to by Free Trolley as well.

Wow, your a lucky kid. I really want to start at the summer session this year. If accepted, I'm going to have to convince my parents.

I attended the UVA summer session as a rising senior this past summer. I have also applied to UVA as one of my colleges this year. The weather in Charlottesville is pretty hot but not too bad. There's sports you can play all over. I played a lot of soccer on their public fields. Charlottesville also has amazing places to eat. There's an area called the corner that has many small places to eat on the street and it is all very good. When I stayed there I stayed in a house with my cousin and other undergraduates. Summer courses are different than regular class because it is squeezed into four weeks. I had 3 hour and 45 minute lectures and TA sessions every weekday starting at 8 am. I also had a lab going with it. I think it was totally worth it though. UVA and Charlottesville are both great places.
