Tuition

Does anyone know what the proposed tuition is for the 2006-2007 year? I got my finaid letter back from my second choice school, and was shocked to see a $2,500 increase in tuition! I've also haerd about tech's 9 percent increase, is uva doing the same thing?

If tuition and fees go up 10% as was proposed, that would bring in-state tuition to $8107, for a total of about $18,385. Maybe someone admitted last week (Echols) could comment on the amount quoted in his/her welcome package.

President Casteen told parents at a convocation last fall that we should expect about 8% increase for the forseeable future. It was an 8% jump last year.

Tuition is set by the Board of Visitors in April (I believe). We're all waiting for this year's increase to be announced so we know how many Ramen noodles to stock.
