English Studies

Hi,

I have narrowed down my college choice to UVA or UNC Chapel Hill. I am instate in Virginia, so there is a cost difference, but I am trying to look outside that at this point of the choosing process.

Both campuses are beautiful, I have friends at both. So, my question is, does anyone know which English department is better? I will definitely be majoring in English studies; perhaps minoring in History or Foreign Language (French). So, in terms of these humanities, specifically English, which college is strongest?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Go to UVA. They're both very good schools that are similar enough academically, socially and otherwise that the added cost is not worth it.

I know we're biased, but go to UVa. Its English department is quite stellar.
