Because it is an awesome school with an awesome reputation in all departments. The campus is beautiful, the weather is usually great, and the university has one of the best gym facilities in the nation!

Main reason? The curriculum: I'm studying engineering at VT and I love engineering. However, I also lovelovelove english/history/political science/humanities classes. UVa's engineerin curriculum fits everything in, and so this way I can graduate with an excellent engineering degree, a background in humanities/communications/ect, and have a chance to do a minor outside of a math or science field.
UVa's faculty, campus, location, people, social life, ect are all just added bonuses =)

Accepted by snail mail. They didn't update the online account until May 1 or so. I guess they wanted everyone to receive their hard copies before updating the electronic files. You'll probably find out before the 27th if last year is any indication.

That's kind of wierd. i guess they wanted to do the online site all at once, but wanted people to find out earlier if possible because applicants might have deadlines with other schools (W&M was may 1 last year i know, so it would suck to lose the deposit)

my stats are close to mightynick's only with better ECs and a horrible HS record (not trouble, just really bad grades and lack of classes). I'm really nervous about May 1 and would hate to have to tell all my friends and family I got rejected.

I really hope we find out before May 1. The sooner the better!!!!
