Enrolled Student Packages - Dean J?

Does anyone know when those of us who have sent in our enrollment deposits can expect to hear from UVA?

Not to be one of those whiny "why is it so slow" people -- I totally get why it might take a while to process all those checks and get the packets together -- I just hate being heartbroken every time I wait for the mail at 5 pm and it's not there. If it'll be a few weeks yet, I'd rather know that now than later.

I'm just so excited.

Congratulations!! I'm excited for you!
Last year I sent my deposit in on May 1st and it took about 2.5 weeks to get any information back. I got really scared, but now I know how slow the whole process is. Maybe since you are replying before the May 1st deadline, you might hear back sooner.

To answer your question, yes, you can expect weeks.

I was wondering the same thing. It says 5-7 days from the time they receive it but I just called the office of admissions and they say it is done through the office of orientation or w/e and that they usually don't start sending them out until after the first of may.

If you've sent in your deposit, then you should go back and check your status page on the undergrad admission website and see if your deposit has been processed (click on "Status Report" or whatever its called).

If your deposit has been processed, then you don't need to wait for an actual confirmation to activate your UVa account/get your UVa-email.

Go to Activate Your Student Computing Accounts and click "Start your account activation now"

You're supposed to read their guidelines and take a quiz to prove you did so, but the quiz is really easy.

After you pass the quiz you'll get your ID and password.

I just got my email, and I changed my network on FB. It was pretty exciting :-)

Wait no that totally didn't work... My deposit was received and processed etc but it won't authenticate before I take the quiz.

Yup. Take the quiz, then you should be fine.
If it's not even letting you take the quiz, try going on UVa's home page and people-searching your name. If you don't show up, most likely they haven't processed you. That's how they told me to check last year as a transfer, so I assume it applies to others as well

No i mean it won't let me take the quiz at all. I'll keep seeing if my name shows up on the people search - I've been checking it all this week thanks guys.

AHHHHH LUCKY.

I love you!!!! I had completely forgotten to check my email thing for the past week and so I checked today and it let me take the quiz!!! (which, btw, was so easy. Go for the test taking strategy: the longest, most detailed one is probably the right answer.) god, this made my day.

and shoebox: I was really interested in Brown College. would you mind if I PMed you with some questions I have?

Is it bad that on my first college quiz I didn't read the material and instead used the ctrl-f function to find the answers? Hooray for high school habits.

db123: nice name...easy to type. Anyways, I don't know a whole lot about Brown, so I'm not sure how much help I can be as far as lifestyle goes. But, you can try if you want. PM Ehiunno, he's got all the answers for Brown probably (sidenote- ehiunno: where the heck have you been?). Also, maybe try searching this forum for Brown. Choices abound, pick one haha

my packet came in today (!!!) I turned my deposit in on the first DOTL day and I live in NoVa if anyone is trying to gauge how long theirs will take. I also turned my deposit in by hand instead of mail so it may have gotten processed more quickly (I'm speculating.)
