first and foremost, jtm, I am a minority and so your argument that "members of mainstream racial or religious groups" would not apply to me. No one is implying that racism is not an issue; we're saying that there ARE isolated incidents because of a select few however this does not reflect the vast majority. And
no one even brought up the Klan; however, some students are going to freak out and now seach to make sure.

Our "hostility and condescension" come from a genuine concern that our university will be painted in a light that doesn't represent the true nature of it. We care. That's why we keep posting. And as Globalist said, I just copied/pasted from another thread so we have addressed this issue MANY times. It's the fault of the OP for not looking in the first place.

When you genuinely care about something, you become passionate when it's attacked. Sorry if that bothers you. But for the students/prospectives, this matters. A lot. If you don't care or wish to give it a rest, don't post.
