i cant make the decision for may 1st, can i double enroll?

hi im tryin to decide between uva and a school in california but dont think i can make the decision before may 1st. Can i enroll at both? (i know ill lose the deposit money put into the school i wont end up attending)

No, you cannot. Don't even try - people do get caught.

I'm pretty sure that if you do that and are caught, you could lose your spots at both schools. I wouldn't recommend it.

What I've found is really helpful is contacting current students of the schools you're considering and asking them questions. Most people are more than happy to talk to you about their school. If you know anyone at one of your schools, email him/her! If not, message random people on Facebook. That's what I did.

I thought you can? What about instances where you get waitlisted? That's why you have the deposit, if you change your mind then it'll be forfeited..

That's different, lisieux. What the OP is talking about is mailing deposits to two different schools. Mailing a deposit to one school and then later accepting a waitlist spot at another school (and withdrawing from the first school) is not uncommon or unreasonable.

May 1 is a postmark deadline.

With over a month to think about this, it's clearly time to call the colleges if you still can't make a decision. Talk to admission officers...we don't want you to come to our school if it isn't the right place.

Double depositing is never, ever allowed. If you deposit at one school while staying on the waitlist at another, that is fine. If you are offered a spot off the waitlist and want to take it, you must notify the school where you deposited immediately so they can fill that spot.
