Visa wouldn't cooperate or wanted to charge or something.

Great, now I actually have to go up to uva tomorrow and interact with another human. I hate interacting with human beings

They don't accept Visa since Visa doesn't approve of UVA charging you a service fee to use your credit card.

The best bet is to get an Amex card that offers cash back, most are 2-3%, so your service fee disappears.

Yup. Or mail a check. Just watch your account and make sure they cash it. But Canuck is very right about the service fee: they charge 2.5% or 3%, or something outragous. Even for IS tuition, that's a few hundred bucks. OOS, is another story, since 2.5% of $30K is almost a grand.

It does add up pretty quickly. The service fee is 2.75%, which was about $520 for the first semester. I get 2% back from Amex, so it only ends up being 0.75%, but even that adds up. Checks from now on... Although I thought they offered e-check as an option also?

I tried calling the Financial Services office yesterday twice and no one picked up for 35 minutes long both times. So either call them at 8 in the morning or come in person.

They don't seem to respond to emails either. Very distressing.

After being on hold for 30 minutes I gave up yesterday. Got through okay today but those statements are clear as mud. First I found out that Quickpay is only updated once a month and so I went to student accounts on ISIS and it doesn't show the application of my scholarships (even though they sent me an email saying it was applied) and it doesn't show my credit balance for the thousands that will be applied to next semester.

The new system has to be better than this...........
