Interesting Ranking - 25 Safest Colleges

I just read this. UVA is the 7th safest college campus in the US.

The Top 25 Safest Colleges - Page 1 - The Daily Beast

But what's really scary are the schools with the Worst Crime Rankings. (Harvard, Yale, MIT...ouch.)

Not surprised. Student housing, on and off grounds, is fairly scrunched together. Also, the bus system/saferide make walking home late at night nearly impossible

Woe, I'm glad that UVA is ranked so highly in terms of safety, but I certainly always keep my guard up in CVL as some parts of the city can be tricky.
On Grounds crime is probably so low because UVA has such a well respected and attentive security guard/system, IMHO.

I'm sure the Honor System despite its flaws also keeps the crime level down as well.
