Chance me please?

Hi,
I just recently finished 10th grade, and ever scared of getting rejected from the UW. Here is my info. and I'll just put that I am Asian (I don't know why it matters, but I see other people put their ethnicity too?)

GPA- 3.1667 (my school doesn't do that weighted/unweighted stuff)

Course highlights:
9th grade: honors science, French II
10th grade: honors biology/chemistry (1 class), honors world history, honors language arts, French III
11th grade (future): I plan to take AP psychology, AP US, AP language, and possible French IV
12th grade (future): Kind of unclear right now, but: AP gov, AP something, AP something

Extracurriculars:
1. One of leaders of a committee (we make events for the community)
2. in a club
3. in a committee (stated earlier)
4. volunteer for Foodbank (a place that supports struggling families)
5. overview= roughly 100 hours of community service

Plans: Increase GPA to 3.4/3.5, More service hours, more clubs (and take over, get leadership lol)

and YES, I live in Washington, thank God...

So please tell me if I am on the right track, what I should do to improve my chances, and anything else you feel like saying!!

I forgot to add that I am a male....
and another question.. why does your race and gender matter when getting admitted to a college? Thanks!

You have pretty good chances if you actually get your GPA to about a 3.5 and also take all of those AP Classes, because it will show a trend of improvement. If you get 1900+ on the SAT i would say you are in if your "plans" turn out to be true. To make sure you get in, raise your GPA in a rigorous schedule and get a good SAT score. Then you will be in.

^ Just do it. You should take part in at least one sport. don't have to be really good at it.

or not. I forgot, nowadays you have to pay to play.
