Chances- Regular decision

i just want to know what people think of my chances at VAnderbilt..
SAT I-
680 W
710 M
580 V
I am retaking them because of my verbal score

SAT II-
650 MI..I will probably take them again early next year

I have a 3.0 unweighted GPA (not very high)

I have many extracurriculars but I just wanted to know academically how my chances were. Any sort of response would be appreciated I just need to know if its worth it.
thanks.

in my opinion, i'd think your numbers are very much on the lower end of the fence. to get your chances up, really focus in on some activities and demonstrate leadership within a few select ones, retake the SAT I and get your verbal up (my verbal was also below vandy's avg when i applied, but that was also 4 years ago), and really work on a good personal statement. do not use a blanket statement that you sent to every school you applied to...

good luck! and as far as whether it's "worth it" id say anything that you really want u should go for. you really never know what an admissions committee is thinking when they're reviewing your app or whether they'll see something potentially interesting in you, etc.

Good advice from vandymaniac. You truly never do know how it will turn out! However, realize that you do have stats on the low end, so it may not work out for you. Make sure you don't get your heart set on Vandy. Make sure you have an outstanding app, hope for the best ... and maybe the end of April will bring a nice surprise.
