Course Bumping

I'm new to Vanderbilt this fall and I noticed they bumped me out of a course section I really wanted. What really bugs me is that course was a TH course meaning now all my courses are MWF...

Anyway - for the current students - I was wondering if they level out all the courses (i.e. if they have 2 sections capped at 25 and they have 25 registered in one and 15 in another, do they move 5 from the 25 to the 15 to make it 20 and 20), or if they only bump students from a course when it's past capacity? If the latter is true, I probably have no chance getting back into the section I wanted...

When you are bumped, you get to fix your schedule before open drop/add. My D has been able to work out her schedule when she's been bumped - she may have to change things around from what she originally wanted, but it's worked out well for her. If you can't find what you want during the adjustment period, you can always get online as soon as the open drop/add period begins & try to get what you want. I am sure that there are students who have suggestions on how to do this ...
