peabody vs college of arts and sciences

Hi guys! So I don't know if I want to do an education major or an english major...i mean i know i have to do both, but I don't know which one I should specify on my application. you can specify two, but which one should i write first? If I want to do only English, is it hard to transfer out of peabody? and which one is easier to get into: peabody or college of arts and sciences?

thanks!!!!!!!

im pretty sure its easier to transfer into peabody than art and science, so you should def put art and science as your first choice. and i heard it easy to cross register at differnt colleges so you might be able to double major in both!

I think the numbers will speak louder and more objectively than my words. You make up your mind.

on one accepted student day April 09.., we were told by an Asst Dean in a public meeting forum that the Arts and Sciences rate this year overall was at about 17%--I can't recall how that broke out with variations at ED vs RD

dshinka got his numbers wrong

He posted acceptance rates for A & S, but enrollment rates for the other schools. Peabody's acceptance rate for 2008 was 27% vs. 23% for Arts and Science.

Engineering

Those should be correct...

According to:
Admissions Statistics | The Vandy Admissions Blog

- [Fall 2009] Admit Rate: 18.9% (I assume that's RD + ED1 + ED2)

"Remember, it is our practice to report both ED rounds together."
- [ED1 + ED2] Overall Admit Rate: 37.9%

- "Consequently, we had some very interesting and difficult discussions. Ultimately, we admitted slightly more than 45% of Early Decision 1 applicants."
