Chance an Alabamian, please?

I attend a top 5% public school in the US in AL. Very competitive.

Im a twin, does that do anything?

GPA: around a 3.97-3.98-ish, i got one B , 4.43 weighted.
(The B was in honors chem, which is required before AP Chem. I got an A in AP).
Rank: 14/690
Took 7 AP courses, taking 3 this year. Im taking 9 classes this year instead of 8. One is going to be a calculus class in a college. (i took ap calculus ab already..)

My counselor said my schedule was "most rigorous."

SAT: 1st: 1900
2nd: 1450/2110 (780 math, 670 cr, 660 wr).
3rd: Just took one. No idea how I did.

SAT 2s: 670 Biology. I didnt study effectively..Planning to take again and another one.

ECs:

Church/ YG
Regular/active member: 9th-12th grade. I go to church every Sunday and spend around 5 hrs a wk.
Awana Vacation Bible Study Team Leader (T&T): 10th grade, summer
Secretary/staff: 11th grade.
Leader and member of the Drama team (basically we do skits, etc.): 12th grade.
Ping-pong champion of the Youth Group: 9th grade.

Tennis:
JV: 9th grade
Varsity: 10th-11th grade (1 letter received).
I'm planning to play tennis senior year. Made the team. Most likely varsity, but not sure.
Founder and president of the tennis club.

School Clubs:
Mu Alpha Theta: 11th-12th grade
English Honors Society: 11th-12th grade
Science Honors society: 11th-12th grade

Volunteer Work:
Shelving books at the library: around 30hours....

Thanks!

College Board just updated their website. You are not going to believe this but:

16% In-state students
84% Out-of-state students (excludes Alabamian twins)
50% Women (excludes Alabamian twins)
50% Men (excludes Alabamian twins)
1% American Indian/Alaskan Native (excludes Alabamian twins)
8% Asian/Pacific Islander (excludes Alabamian twins)
7% Black/Non-Hispanic (excludes Alabamian twins)
6% Hispanic (excludes Alabamian twins)
53% White/Non-Hispanic (excludes Alabamian twins)
5% Non-Resident Alien (excludes Alabamian twins)
21% Race/ethnicity unreported (excludes Alabamian twins)

Joking, of course.
wakka you have as good of a chance as any of us on cc.
Good luck.
Hope to see you and your twin at Vandy!

congrats on moving your test scores up! I agree that you should retake your SATII..lots of my sons' friends walked in cold..and were under the impression that there was no need to review and regretted not prepping. The prep books are short and sweet and they are your friends...easier than AP prep.

I think too many people stop testing too soon, although 3 times is plenty..and one of my sons quit after two when he made the exact same score..he accepted that this was "his score".

If critical reading is hard for you to nudge up, consider the ACT which is more like a batch of short SATIIs. You don't have to report it. Buy the red book, review and take it in November or December..you never know....for one son the ACT was the lesser..for the other the ACT was perfection and far better than an SAT.

Be aggressive. You will need strong essays and to understand Vandy and the other colleges you apply to attend...visualize yourself there and think hard about curriculum if you have any sense of vocation yet...think hard about how you might contribute and put that on paper

Prep for the math level 2 SATII is my recommendation..it plays to your strong suit..but prep for it.

good luck in your college application season of life...

i got in this year with a 1440/2110, similar GPA and rank, and far less activities. i'd be more worried about your recommendations and essays.
