I am

I will most likely apply to Vassar ED II if I do not get accepted EA to my top choice (UChicago). I've kind of fell in love with Vassar over the last couple of months

Hey, I'm planning on applying ED II. The only issue... someone from my same high school got admitted ED I. She has better test scores, has better rank (she is #2 and I'm #4), and is a minority, and the only leg up I have is that I'm part of a lot of extra curriculars and a few more challenging classes. Let me know if I have a chance. Thanks!

and I want to add that I'm not holding anything against her. No matter what happens, she (and anyone who gets admitted to such a wonderful college) deserves to have been admitted, I just want to know if I have a possibility too.

SATs:1770
ACT: 25
APs: UP US (3), AP Gov. (2), AP Lang (3), and I'm taking AP Environmental and AP Literature
**our school offers 8 APs total and 3 honors classes, which I did take

I have about 430 community service hours, and as for ECs there are a lot to list so I'll just put the important ones:
EIC of Yearbook for 3 years, plus 3 years of Yearbook Camp (I'm a nerd, I know)
11 musicals, 2 plays, and 1 one act
Chamber Singers 3 years
Junior Class President
a pre-college program
Teen Court
Drama Club 4 years
National Honor Society
Piano lessons for 11 years
Voice lessons for 8 years
Accapella group for 1 year
and a few other little things

As previously stated I'm 4/298 and have a GPA of 4.0 UW according to my school.

Thanks for your help!

Well I think my favorite aspect of Vassar College is that they allow for the student to choose his/her own path through their courses, and how involved the students are because of the small class sizes and organizations. It allows for every student to have a voice, which is just the kind of college I'm looking for. I also feel that Vassar does a terrific job of choosing students for the right reasons, not just from test scores (but I could be wrong).
