Military credit

Hello all veteranss,

Its nice we have a place to come to to ask questions! I actually got out about three years ago and have picked up some community college along the way but am working a full time job so not as much as I would like. I am looking at applying to UCSD and SDSU in the fall. The way it looks right now I'll have to complete 60 credits at CC first and then apply. My question is, I have credit from an online school (nationally accredited) and from the Navy of course, are these even relevant? I asked a VA person at UCSD if they accept military credit and she said they do accept some, but I would have to talk to an Admissions Counselor after I apply, so I'm kind of confused about this whole process. But my main question is whether or not military credit is considered in the transfer process? Thanks for the help in advance

AARTS credits are pretty worthless at competitive schools, in my experience. Why? Money. They're not giving you credit for something if they don't have to - they'd rather have you pay to take it from them.

Obviously your military history will be part of the admissions process, but not the academic portion.
