Love Phoenix. Great city. Area around campus was clean, not know as a crime area.

City/Town/Community:
Traffic is HORRIBLE. Just terrible. Takes you forever to get anywhere. If you only stay on main ASU campus - you can survive.

Campus Visit Notes for Arizona State University

Visit Description:

The most interesting thing to note is that the university was to substantially grown enrollment in the coming years. Since the main campus is landlocked, the only alternative is to grown the satelite campuses. For example, the Cronkite School of Journalism is moving completely to the downtown site. The reason given is to be closer to television stations and newspapers. it's obvious the real reason is to grow enrollment. So if you want to major in journalism or communications you will actually live in an old hotel now converted to a dormitory. You reside in a small satelite campus - in the heart of downtown Phoenix. This is not a typically safe area - so that's a concern. It's more like a community college atmosphere than that of a major university. If you want the complete big college experience - this is NOT it. If you want small, intimate environement - good choice. It would almost be impossibl to pledge a frat or sorority - because the commute is impossible! Good luck with this ASU - this may kill the program at ASU. I'm not aware of what other programs are being moved to the outlying campuses - but something you should definitely ask about before enrolling.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

If you don't have a PF Chang's in your city - try this - "soothing lettuce wraps" as an appetizer shoudln't be missed.
