Nice area within walking distance with all kinds of restaurants, shops, etc. A mix of low-end and high end. We ate at a very good Greek restaurant 2 blocks from campus. [View Full Report] |

It was pretty much integrated with the city- a few of the buildings intermingled. But there was definitely a distinctive campus. It was very nice. [View Full Report] |

There seemed to be one street aligning campus that was home to the coffee houses, restaurants, shops, and clubs. A real let-down after living in a college town and visiting Boston. [View Full Report] |

Downtown Providence is only a short walk from Brown's campus down (or UP) a hill. It is purely accessible for pedestrians. Mostly suburban atmosphere in the immediate area however. [View Full Report] |

There's many brick houses around the university and it's in a good area. It's on "College Hill". [View Full Report] |

It looked fine around campus, but parking is absolutely horrible. We got there early and managed to find a spot that was only 4-5 blocks away and in shade. [View Full Report] |

The area of Providence surrounding Brown looked fine and well-maintained. We felt comfortable there. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to explore the shops on Thayer St. [View Full Report] |

Thayer street has a lot of shops and small places to eat. The store owners are really friendly--the owner of the Indian goods store always gives you free rings and bracelets just for coming in. [View Full Report] |

Okay, but not much to do. Greater Providence would have more, but then it's really not a huge city. [View Full Report] |

Pretty decent; there is a cool shuttle bus from the airport that stops everywhere in Providence for about 1/5 the price of a cab. Nice big mall in providence, relatively safe city [View Full Report] |

Thayer Street, the main commercial drag adjacent to campus, had a nice variety of shops/cafes/restaurants. Other areas adjacent to campus seemed very safe. [View Full Report] |

Brown's on the top of a rather steep hill, so what's within reasonable walking distance is somewhat limited. There's a strip next to the campus that is geared toward college students, and seems like it would suffice for daily needs: runs t [View Full Report] |

Providence is right there! It's a quaint and cute city/town. And Thayer Street lacks very little (in terms of what a college student needs anyway!) The upkeep needs a little work (think cracked sidewalk, random contents of Dumpster out and about) [View Full Report] |

I love Providence and the areas surrouding the campus. The area is not so intense and crowded that it makes you feel like you've stepped into a completely different environment, but it definitely gives you the feeling that you have undoubtly stepped [View Full Report] |
