Gorgeous setting, with many new and beautiful buildings, and full grown native landscaping.

Campus pride is obvious.
Dormitories:

Freshman dorms are average, with very nice common areas.
Upper class campus apartments are brand new, and well designed in a village setting.

The semi rural setting feels safe and the town/gown relationship is strong and positive.

Cal Poly offers many unique programs and facilities and people are happy to be here.

The setting is classic California, with an emphasis on outdoor activities.
The campus is surrounded by open space, orchards, a nice town, and beaches 10 minutes away.

SLO offers an historic downtown, with a mission, many restaurants and wine tasting.
It's easy to get around, students have a free bus pass. The train runs north or south for trips to LA or SF.

Visit Description:
Cal Poly offers a myriad of hands on majors from landscape architecture to animal science to graphic communication and business. The campus has many unique facilities such as an organic farm, equestrian center, arboretum, and a rec center workshop that includes a surfboard shaping bay. People seem truly happy and engaged and the students like to talk about their majors.
