Information Session: Yes - Fairly informative. Nothing really that I didn't know from the CC forums, but the demographic and sheer number of attendees said a lot about the school. Importance of holistic admission emphasize
Campus Tour: Yes - Great! Friendly tour guide, only spoke when we were stopped at important, so I could discuss my observations with my dad while we walked. Very informative, but we didn't go inside dorms/classroom

Campus Visit Notes for Columbia University
I absolutely loved it. The vitality on campus can't be portrayed in viewbooks, in photos, or on admissions websites. Must be experienced to be understood.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
The Excelsior was a great hotel.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Dining really spins the gamut. From Garlic Bob's Pizza to Le Monde, off campus eateries were great. John Jay was above average for a college cafeteria and other on-campus eateries were good too.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
The 1-Train seemed very safe. I was surprised how much nicer the NYC subway is than the Chicago 'L' (which is our equivalent of a subway). Good luck finding parking in New York.
